What Videnda stores, and where
Your passports, stamped places, journal entries, attached photos, custom places, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone, inside Videnda’s own storage. This information is never sent to Litora Labs — we have no way to see it. If you protect a passport with a password, Videnda stores a salted hash of that password on the device — never the password itself. A passport password limits access inside the Videnda app; it does not separately encrypt the journal file. At rest, the journal is protected by iOS file-based encryption tied to your device passcode, and it is included in your device’s own Apple backups so your memories survive a lost phone.
Backups, exports & sharing
Videnda lets you export a backup file of your data and restore from it later. Backups are created only when you ask and are never transmitted to us. If you store a backup in iCloud, that storage is provided by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. Backup JSON, PDF, and image exports are saved into Videnda’s own folder on your device, which you can open in the Files app to move, copy, or share the file wherever you like; you can also copy a backup to the clipboard or hand a copy to the iOS share sheet and choose a destination there. Once a copy leaves Videnda, the app or service that receives it processes it under its own terms. Exported files are not encrypted by Videnda, and your clipboard may be available to your other devices through Apple’s Universal Clipboard. Separately from files you create, your device’s own iCloud or computer backup may include Videnda’s app data, controlled and retained by Apple.
Device permissions
Videnda asks for a permission only when a feature needs it, and everything a permission touches stays on your device:
- Photo library — only when you choose to attach photos to a journal entry. Selected photos are copied into Videnda’s local storage and go nowhere else unless you later export or share them.
- Location — only if you use the nearby features (“What’s near me?”, “Where should I eat?”). Your position is used on the device, in the moment, to sort places by distance — it works in airplane mode, is never stored, and is never transmitted by Videnda.
Videnda never tracks your location in the background, and every part of the app works if you decline the permission.
Home-screen widget
The Videnda widget shows a small summary — stamp counts and a couple of place names — through an App Group container that the app and its widget share on your device. That summary is never transmitted, and it is cleared when you log out of a password-protected passport or delete the passport that owns it.
Deletion
Deleting a journal entry, a passport, or the app removes Videnda’s local data from this device. Deleting one passport leaves other passports untouched. Deletion cannot recall copies that already left the app: exported or shared files, clipboard contents, source photos in your library, or app data inside an existing Apple device backup.
Analytics and crash reporting
None. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting software.
Children
Videnda is a general-audience app. Because we collect no data from anyone, we collect no data from children.
This website
litoralabs.com is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to serve and secure the site, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The site’s typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google’s servers when the page loads, governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Changes
If a future version of Videnda ever changes any of the above, we will update this policy — and the app’s App Store privacy details — before that version is released, with a new effective date on this page.
